Membership information
Membership of the BFWA is open to any person who agrees with the purpose of BFWA.
Members have voting rights at our AGM and an open invitation to committee meetings.
Importantly, member fees covers our overheads including PO box, postage, auditing, website and other tech fees. It ensures that 100% of money we raise goes directly to the children - we do not take any admin fees from donations or sponsorship money.
The annual membership fee is AUD $50 and is due on the 1st July every year. You can join at any time during the year.
The Committee determines the membership fee at the AGM.
Membership is ceased if: a year has passed since the fee was paid; the Committee is notified in writing or a member dies :(
The Committee may terminate a member if the member’s conduct is detrimental to the interests of the BFWA. At least 14 days prior to a committee meeting, the Committee will communicate with the member the grounds for expulsion. The member has right of reply and the Committee will determine whether or not the member is to be expelled.
