Q & A

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Direct donations to BFWA aren't, since the work happens outside Australia — but a donation via RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service) is fully tax-deductible. Use the RAWCS link on our Donate page.

How do I know the money actually gets there?

BFWA takes no commission from donations. Sponsorship money goes straight to the three hostels; sponsorship money for university and vocational students goes into their own Thai bank accounts. Committee members visit Thailand 3-4 times a year and work directly with hill tribe leaders and hostel caregivers. Committee members are volunteers and pay for their own travel/expenses in Thailand

Can I visit the hostels myself?

Yes — BFWA welcomes visitors and supporters to see the work firsthand in Northern Thailand. Get in touch with the committee to arrange it – info-wa@borderlessfriendship.org

Can I fund something specific, like a volleyball court or a Mooditj sexuality education weekend?

Reach out directly — BFWA committee members can talk you through current projects and exactly how a larger gift would be used.

Is BFWA a registered charity?

Yes. Borderless Friendship Western Australia Inc. has been incorporated since November 2010 (ABN 83 209 617 392) and is accredited with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission (ACNC).
